I Photshoped it to make the color as accurate as I can; but my monitor tends to make things look darker than they are, so you may be seeing a lighter color than it actually is.

Note that this jacket is "Vintage Brown" color. It has the following label inside:

This garment has been manufactured from horsehide using the original 1920's tanning process, originally a workwear material, and as such may experience color loss from time to time.

This is a feature, not a bug, IMHO, but nevertheless be advised. There are other available colors, a Vintage Black, plus regular Brown, Black, and Cherry (which, I think, are not subject to the same color loss - check with Amanda about this. ).

Note that this is front-quarter horsehide. You could order their sale-offering jerky horsehide in brown or black, instead. It would be 275 GBP plus 30 GBP shipping as opposed to this, which is 400 GBP and free shipping.

I'd never be able to wear that jacket...

...where I live, but maybe two or three times a year. I got up to almost 70 degrees here in Southeast Texas yesterday.

In terms of what sort of temperature to wear this in - it is about as heavy as my Aero Barnstormer but covers considerably less body area. Therefore, I would typically wear it in, say, 45 to 55 degrees farenheit weather.

I wore it yesterday over a layer of polypro long underwear plus pants in the low 40's / high 30's on a 2 mile hike. It was fine. Last night, I wore it over the turtleneck in the picture in high 20's. It was wearable, but I wouldn't recommend it. The jacket is tight. Therefore, it will fit only one layer - a shirt or a turtleneck, for example. It would not fit over both shirt and sweater.

I have yet to test how hot things would have to get before it would become uncomfortable. Note that it is a motorcycle jacket. When so using it or - say - while driving in an open convertible, there would be a wind chill factor.

Note that this is a Grizzly without fur. Aero also makes those - for about 500 GBP, I think. I would suppose those would be used for the same sorts of temperatures B-3's and Irvins are used for.

When you say its tight- did you order your usual jacket size, or one size up? I'm asking because I was thinking of ordering the Aero "Cossack" model, but I'm not quite sure of the fit. I know they're supposed to run snug, but I'm not into the "Boa Constrictor" fit.

Tighter than my Aero Barnstormer but no tighter - perhaps looser - than my Aero Irvin. I ordered my usual jacket size. It is not uncomfortable - "trim" might be a better word.
