I still know nothig about all the cool lids you guys are wearing. I see you guys refer to numbers? X's? What is the difference in all the hats,? Quality? Where to shop for some hats without spending a fortune? You guys have so much knowledge about this stuff, and I know nothing!!!!!!!!! Oh yeah, Vintage Style Mag, is it good? You guys recommend it?

You're starting out the same way the "experts" here did, too. Just nose around in the Hat threads (look in the Archives section for threads that specifically answer these questions, as well) and ask for clarification when needed. I'm not a hat expert, but generally higher numbers or more X's mean better quality. That's generally...not guaranteed.

Yeah, the best way to learn is to do read new threads and search for terms you want to know more about.

As for Xs, theoretically more Xs means more quality, but realistically more Xs just mean more $. A XXX hat may be a much better hat than a XXXXXXXXXX, even if they're made by the same company.
