Akubra Federation: Deluxe or Regular?

Hi Everyone:

I'm still pretty new to this and would appreciate some help.

I've now had a regular Akubra Federation in carbon grey for about a month which I like very much. I'd like to have a second hat in brown, but I need to have a dark black-brown (light brown makes me look sallow). I saw that the Deluxe is in the darker brown, but it costs a lot more than the regular Fed. Does anyone have both? Is the Deluxe worth the extra 80% or so it costs?

I personally would not choose the deluxe over the standard. I saw no real difference between the two.

The Federation "mid-brown" color varies somewhat, but is generally a very dark gray-brown.

The flash makes it look lighter than it is.

No finer felt in the Deluxe?

That's about the only thinjg I don't like about my Fed Standard: the felt is a tad coarse.

MAYBE a little, but I don't think it's worth the extra dough.

I got one once and found it virtually indistinguishable from the standard.

The "mid brown" one in the picture above was too big for me, and I sold it to a fellow COW member. It looked pretty good, though.

The felt on the deluxe is better, but not sure that it is $50 better.
