Saw this pop up in my inbox today: Schott dropped a limited release of 56 Vandals jackets made in Shinki horsehide.

Personally, I like that they went with a D-Pocket model for a USA release model made with Shinki, but at $1900, it's pretty close now to just getting the RMC Buco J-24 (which, to me, besides the zipper, is a much nicer jacket in terms of pattern, 'history,' resale value if you don't like it, etc.).
I LOVE my Schott jackets, but many brands are now skyrocketing towards way too premium prices that I can no longer afford, especially heritage brands like Schott and Lewis. I guess they were seeing what the Japanese markets were bringing in and have had license to inch prices up since COVID, tariffs, and whatever the hell other reasoning can be applied to such astronomical inflation.
That said, it IS still cheaper than most new Shinki jackets -- and sits around the price of a new Rainbow Country jacket, which also offer some beautiful Shinki hides. Thoughts?
