I love bonnets, they're so comfy and shade my hair, scalp, neck, and face (I religiously cover myself ffrom the sun). I love all kinds of styles, and hope to get more. I have one prairie-style bonnet that doesn't quite fit, and I have a wonderful slat bonnet--I wear it every day. Anyone else??

Pictures of people wearing bonnets would be nice. As far as I know, they are not super common today. But you never know in the fashion world.[huh]

You just can't argue with what you like, me thinks.

I'd be afraid people would think I was wearing a hijab.

With regard to women's bonnets -

I myself don't think that bonnets look anything like hijabs. And it seems to me that most Americans would see bonnets as old fashioned rather than unpatriotic or subversive.

But even if we assume that a bonnet could be mistaken for a hijab, is wearing either really something to fear?

I think we all should dress how we wish to dress; and we should freely extend the same courtesy to others.
