Anyone ever see cufflinks like this?

A friend of mine found these in her travels. We are trying to figure out what era they are from. Have any of you ever seen anything like this? (These are not an active auction on any site. They have not been listed). They are little temperature gauges and when you hold them up near a lightbulb that is hot they gauge needles actually move.

that's pretty nifty. I've seen tie clips that do that, but never cufflinks.

Yes, I've seen them before. IIRC, I ran across them at this seller, several years ago. The proprietor, Michael, will be able to date them.
