Anyone interested in designer Claire McCardell?

I found out that she grew up in Frederick, Maryland which is where my mom was born and raised. On my blog I interviewed her 94-year-old brother, Mr. Robert McCardell. I thought you might find it interesting. He was quite charming and I enjoyed interviewing him very much.

Wow! That must have been something to do that interview! I've liked Claire McCardell since I found a book on her in high school. Such wearable clothes, modern designers could take a lesson from her.

Mr. McCardell is sharp as a tack. I also found out that Ms. McCardell is buried in the same cemetery as my grandfather so when I go to visit him I'll do the same for her. She was really way way ahead of her time.
