Are you a picture of politeness?

I did very well except when I played the man- I lost points for being too pushy when rebuked by the lady for a dance (tee hee), and I also lost points for not picking the right suits for the occasion.

Isn't it funny, that even asking to dance with her at a later time was considered in bad taste.

My only wrong answer.

Thank you that was fun.

Kansas, that's the one I got wrong, too! I picked the same response. :)

Wasn't it a big "no, no" for a young lady to talk to a stranger? I thought you had to wait until someone you'd know introduces you until you can talk to a guy? (the train situation).... Anyway, I'm a picture of politness!

My only failing was trying to gamble at the club. Which, in my opinion was a rigged question considering how popular gambling was among all classes of Victorian males. I think they mistakenly scored that question the way a woman should act (always declining to gamble.)

That Ball situation got me as well. They should have said it was a "Costume Ball." I would have understood that. :kick: Everything else was fairly simple and intuitive.
The fly in the soup question was hilarious because it reminded me of a story my aunt always used to tell about going over a family friend's house for breakfast. The Oatmeal had "raisins." :p Needless to say I got that one right.

Regards to all,

Really neat game. I especially enjoyed the nice architecture and interior scenes.

I had the same problem with selecting the dress for the ball. I don't recall reading that it was supposed to be historical - and it was very obvious that the costume was from a much earlier era.

I also had trouble picking out the clothes for the house dinner.

I got all of the other questions.

Thank goodness, I'm a picture of politeness.
I missed out a couple for the gentlemen, though.
In all fairness, if you are familiar with British stories set in the Victorian era, and the background the British aristocracy, you are likely to come across the term "fancy ball" meaning a costume ball. The difference between American and British English, I guess.

I got all of the gentleman's right as well. I did miss several for the lady, though it still called me a picture of politeness.

Well, I succeeded as a gentleman (I should hope so), but I got three questions wrong as a lady. I don't know how to start dinner at my dinner parties, never realized that the host escorts the eldest woman to the dining room. I used too much time in the restroom on the train, figured it was all about the women looking good. And I greeted my friends in the park with kisses, I am so vulgar.

Either way, I am a picture of politeness.

Is it possible to get something LESS than 'picture of politeness'? I only got one question wrong as a gent - but I got it wrong TWICE! I just don't know how to dress for a dinner in someone else's home ('m not sure which punishment was more traumatic, the piano they dropped on my head or the kangaroo w/ lasers for eyes :p ).

But I apparently just don't know dink about how to be a lady. Apparently, I'm not very lady-like. (Hopefully my wife will be pleased to hear that.) And still, I'm a picture of politeness?

PSG, thanks for the link - that was fun. And the moving cutouts from old pictures was very, very, VERY Monty Pythonesque, which is always worth a giggle. :p

I haven't tried the gents game yet, but was the picture of politeness for the lady. I missed the same three as Floatinjoe. Interesting. Did that guy at the train station say "boing, boing, boing?" My 14 year old daughter is going to take the test as soon as I email the link to her school computer. I'll let you know how she does.
