I found this both very interesting and very chilling. Hollywood's past (and present) history of voluntary self-censorship in response the the Hayes Code and later the arbitrary dictates of the MPAA is well known to many. What I didn't know was the depths to which the studios stooped in order to maintain ties with the lucrative German market in the 1930s!
