I will also vouch for 'Peckham Rye'. Everything is made in the UK. They have updated the tie designs from their family archive (dating back to the 1930s). Some of their mustard coloured silks are gorgeous. My only complaint is that their scarves are too narrow, although the tassles are wonderful (hand tied) and are mixed colour that perfectly match the colour scheme of the scarf.

Brilliant - thanks, chaps. Old Town is, of course, the touchstone for what I'm after but I shall investigate the others...

This is what I like most about the Fedora Lounge: I can sit here salivating over all these beautiful things and think about the fact that Junior is going to university next year. Why can't the little so-and-so work his way through like his old dad did? Then again, there is that old Gibson ES335 sitting here. Hmm.

pipvh, did you ask the initial question so you could check out companies you might have missed (to buy clothing for yourself) or are you writing an article on British companies ?

also, are you looking for a specific garment ?

I don't know whether these are too 'fashion forward' but all produce heritage inspired goods with production wholly or largely in the UK:

Tiny company, beautiful garments

Not cheap, but great outerwear and a good source of high-waisted trousers with brace fittings

Small London company, with a growing reputation

Young company with some interesting pieces and reasonable prices

Needs a better web site...

One of the larger small companies, but solid enough stuff at good prices

Not exactly small, but Made in the UK. More modern twists.

Perhaps not Artisinal, but an old brand undergoing a welcome revival
