Here is the first B-29 to fly in the UK. While I knew that a YB-29 flew to England during the war, I did not know that any B-29s flew missions out of England during WWII, but, one did! I knew that a prototype had been brought over as disinformation, but didn't know that any missions had been flown. Seems strange seeing photos in what I assume is olive drab paint instead of bare metal.

All the early B-29s sent to India and on to China were OD. Of course, that was not many in the overall production run.

Fifi came to Jacksonville last year and they are big compared to the 17s. We went in it but I just couldn't get myself to spend the $1000 to fly in it.

A friend of mine got to fly copilot on FIFI back in the 90s. Just one leg of the flight, but, I would gladly settle for that!
