I've had my beard for about nine months and just getting it how I like it now.
The reactions are interesting but I think 90% of the comments have been positive.
Has anyone in the lounge been experimenting recently?

What reactions do you get with your beard?

Just grew my first beard goatee thing this winter. The reactions have been great. :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

I think it is time to shave it off, though. [huh]

My beard grows straight. I trim it into a sort of George V style. But I get the occasional bad chin day. I wash it regularly to prevent it sticking out every whichway and I keep it trimmed for the same reason.

A little bit of wax will do wonders.

This may sound silly or moot,

but have you tried simply shampooing and conditioning it daily?

i have had a doorknocker for years, and have had it very long at times.

i would shampoo it, condition it, and then use a very coarse brush to style it downward.
i have never used any wax or spray...

seemed to work for me...

I tried a conditioner initially, but it didn't really have much effect. So now a combination of careful trimming plus American Crew Fiber keeps everything somewhat organized.

perhaps if growing length has too much issue you could try something similar to the french musketeers

the hair on the chin was worn to show rank.

or something in a similar vein to this

where both the moustache and beard act together to elongate the face (like a triangular arrow) it's an effective illusion

here's a couple of pictures of what I used to wear.
i opted to lose the beard and keep just the moustache
because it added too much length to my already long face
