I hope with Burton on board, they can capture some of the Diane Arbus-like creepiness I saw in the photos. These folks were carnies, wallflowers, small-town grotesques, and some really sad depression-era cases. I only remember one smile on all those faces - a man who built a 3 story bicycle and rode it to a World's Fair.

There'd be tasty chances for cameo shots with those portrayals. Like the old rummy in the shabby suit who sets his face on fire, then the camera reverses angle to reveal Jack Nicholson. Or Michael Keaton as the extravagantly tattooed traveling salesman.
