Best Bob Length for a variety of 1920s /early 1930s styles

Hello Ladies! Happy Sunday!
I have hair that is shoulder length when it is straight and about an inch below my chin when pin curled. I am wanting to
get a chin length bob, but am wondering if anyone has experience with pin curling a bob of that length. I was curious
about how much the curl will shorten the hair and if it actually works on a blunt bob.

I am hoping to get this look when it is pin curled

My hair is just below chin length. With a blunt bob pin-curled it looked like this:

You probably want a little bit of layering, but I wouldn't do too much.
