I'm posting it here in th WWII section because there are references to reenactors with records & studies from WWII as well as the American CivilWar.
No its not a joke about fat reenactors or a rant about obesity.

Interesting article! I moan and complain about the ol' aches and pains at 45, but I've led a very healthy life compared to those folks a hundred years ago.

It's also a good warning for the slender among us not to ignore their cardiovascular health, as being skinny doesn't make one immune to heart problems.

Yup I've seen that page. Its a shame. I gave up taking pix at reenactments cuz there were so many BIG reenactors.

Yes, a couple years ago the VA hospitals did a study that asserted definitively, its not being skinny, its being active. An active person will last longer.

I'm about the same height as my paternal grandfather and Dad, but 40 pounds lighter than he and Dad. Dad is shorter now because he has bad knees. Maternal grandfather; I'm about 7 inches taller and 50 pounds heavier.
