I have always been an enormous fan of the MGM Set designer Cedric Gibbons, who invented the Art Deco "Little White Telephone" look of early 30's cinema.

here is a picture of him with his then wife Dolores Del Rio, photograped in the house he designed for the both of them

Gibbons' work knocks me out! I will sit through a lousy movie if his name is on the credits as set designer.

If you check out Architectural Digest's website, they have one of his homes that is now owned by producer Joe Roth. He has kept the art deco look. It is a place to make you drool.

Wasn't it his fabulous fantasy palace of a home that burned entirely to the ground? What a loss!
