Cheap hat I added thin ribbon to

A few shots of a hat I added a thin ribbon to and later gave the hat away to a friend, but I just thought I share the shots. I've posted this hat before in this thread:http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?t=12878&highlight=BCF+hats
These pictures were taken later, and I changed the ribbbon by darkening it with a single coat of wood stain. Really, it gave it a unique color that I think worked better with the hat body.

Nice. How do you replace the ribbon? I have a cheap straw that needs a new one, and I'm not sure how to go about it.

Thats your best work ever! I still get compliments on my DGO, but that is one FANTASTIC thin ribboned fedora !!!!

Orgetorix, it is easy to replace a ribbon, do you have one that you can model your new ribbon on? If you do just cut it to size and follow the pattern of the other ribbon.

He's 68 years old, a member of the chuch who goes with me on calls, and wears a a Dobbs stingy brim that he refuses to wear in the rain, so I gave him the grey hat in the pictures, being a low-grade fur felt, to wear on rainy days. I've been on the look-out for another one like it but the place where I get them, and we all know it's initials, hasn't had any like it since. He isn't the hat club type.
