I've always regretted never having served in the military. Having passed the maximum age even for the reserves many years ago, a guy at church told me about the CG Auxiliary.
Same uniform as the regular CG, but with silver buttons and trim. The mess dress uniform is very cool, and the Navy/USMC boat cloak is authorized wear.
The main function of the Auxiliary is boating safety, but there are opportunities to work with the regular CG, except for law enforcement or conflict situations.
