IMHO, the "coolest ever" are the military pilots who donned their leather while risking their lives to protect their country. Hard to get any "cooler" than that.

Never been much of a McQueen fan but I think he looks better in his Harris tweed blazer in Bullitt. Cary Grant in his A1 in Only Angles Have Wings is a contender for me.

Back then there was no Hell's Angels biker gang. The Hell's Angels squadron jacket is as awesome as it gets but I'd probably still vote for Steve McQueen aka Virgil Hilts in "The Great Escape."
