LOL. Thanks. Those things were really stand out fail points for TRD imho. It’s a good beater. I’ll shovel snow in it and just beat the snot out of it.

Since your arms are text book stove pipes too, I wouldn´t bother to adjust the sleeves. The certainly don´t LOOK bad on the photos.
"Sandpapered" probably will be the next "mismatched-panels" and Fine-Creek-Leathers are likely sell lookalikes for USD 3k in no time...

    Serioulsy, looks great, Ton!

^^ Late to the party on Tonys new "insane" weight TRD jacket. Looks nice, and a lot nicer than it did with all the extra's, plus you lightened it some. Why not stop by Horween themselves since you are not terribly far away and see what they say about getting that sanded hide back in business? I really like that it's' brown too - makes it more unique.

I’ve polished it as much as I think I can. I’m pretty sure the only way to remove those scratches any further would be to hit it with some wet sanding/1200 grit sandpaper and essentially turn it to suede. I’ve also got matching chaps...you can see how nice the hide was pre-sanding. If I cared enough I could probably have the back panel rebuilt.

Get some Saphir Oiled Leather polish or just some Neatsfoot oil for the Chromexcel.

Seriously great looking jacket though, even if not greatly constructed.

Yes I agree it looks nice.

But a walk down Michigan Ave with those chaps on, even after stepping off your bike...well, that would indeed be "Character building." ::eek:

Seems to be extremely heavy with its 5oz. The deep scratches caused by sandpaper would be a "no go" for me and assuming that the construction is just a "D" I would put it in Classifieds if I was you. It does look good on you but you've had so many much more nicer leather jackets which fit you better...just my opinion.

I don’t think I could ever sell something like this. I will eventually give it away though, when I need space for the next one.

I like the look of those a lot. From what I can see, they're closing in on Schott, but at a fraction of the price. Of course, I'm sure they also haved a much smaller labour cost. Based on photos alone, that russet is the stand out of their hides.

I actually quite like that vest; reminds me of a two-tone P type one of the boys in the Damned wore back around 1976.

The long one looks like it might be worn as a dress in a sci-fi film...
