Decision-making aid for new Aero Leather jacket

Hi everyone!
I'm the proud owner of a size 40 Aero Highwayman in black FQHH. I love the heavy Horween horsehide, although my Aero's hide is definitely one of the thinner.
Now I'm still looking for something to complement my black Highwayman.
I'd like a jacket with a slightly longer cut so I don't have to tuck in my T-shirts or shirts.
Simply a jacket for everything!

I've noticed the Halfbelt 1930, Long Half Belt, Plainsman, and Sheene.
I'm 1.80m tall and weigh about 83kg, and I have long legs!

Please give me some suggestions on what you would recommend!

Thank you very much and best regards, Daniel

The 30s HB is definitely a short jacket. The plainsman is a longer version if I remember well.
I would go for a long half belt, if I remember well it is based on the 50s pattern (boxier cut like your highwayman) and really practical with so many pockets.
I would chose a lighter hide such as goatskin, it drapes better.

That Highwayman looks to be a great fit and yep, a Long Half Belt is a good suggestion.

However, I chose a Teamster to go alongside my 1930’s Half Belt and Highwayman because apart from the longer length the button front gave another point of difference to yet another zipped jacket.

The Teamster is also a great option, among my favourite aero models, though I consider it more a coat than a jacket.

Although I’ve not handled either a LHB or a Hercules I’ve assumed, possibly incorrectly, that both styles were of a similar length to a Teamster.
Also, I guess the definition of ‘coat’ and ‘jacket’ can be open to interpretation but I regard those such as the 1920’s Work Coat, Barnstormer and Cheyenne as being Aero Leather ‘coats’, with the rest being ‘jackets’
Anyway, a lot of it will come down to your height and how long you want the jacket to actually be, but I’m sure Aero Leather will take all this into account when placing an order.

Thank you! The Herkules and Long Half Belt are really great jackets, but they're certainly quite a bit longer than my Highwayman. Still, they're definitely great for the colder season, as there's more room for a sweatshirt.
But jackets like the Halfbelt 1930 or Sheene also seem a bit longer to me.

The Sheene is a café racer with a collar and definitely short.

If you haven’t already done so I would try to check out a few photos of the two jackets being worn, but I think you’ll find the length of both the 1930’s Half Belt and Sheene are either the same or shorter than a Highwayman.
Certainly my 1930’s Half Belt is about an inch shorter than my same chest size Highwayman.

Another approach could be to have your shirts shortened and continue wearing short jackets ;)
That's what I do.

Or tucking in his shirts. If it’s underneath the jacket, why does it matter whether it’s a short shirt or long shirt tucked in? I tuck in my shirt sometimes when it’s too long, even though I wear my jackets unzipped.

Short jackets work really well with the rule of thirds in fashion.

Half Belt Deluxe and Wayfarer are two of my favorite Aero patterns, along with the Sheene, and J-106. For a longer style, you can also consider the Teamster, or the Barnstormer. The Teamster would probably be a good choice for casual, untucked ensembles. The Wayfarer, too.

I don't like that. I wear my pants too low on my hips, so tucking in my shirt often doesn't work.
And I usually take my jacket off when I get to where I want to be. And then I don't like the tucked-in look twice as much.
But to each their own.

Looks very nice. I never got any of my Highwaymen to fit the "naturally".

If you look for something else, something like a brown or cordovan half-belt might be a good option, or try another brand and type of jacket.

Actually, it would be an option to have the two denim shirts I wear with it shortened.
I'll think about that!
Nevertheless, I would like a second brown FQHH jacket, which can be a different style. I also think the Teamsters with the buttons are great!
If it comes to that, I'll ask Aero if they can pick out a very heavy-duty jacket for me.
Has anyone done that before, or is Aero not that flexible?

I think that if you ask that they will either ask you what do you mean by "heavy duty" or simply go into suggesting you options such as specific leathers or linings to then order a custom.

I find the "Plainsman" one of the most striking designs in Aero´s lineup. Often overlooked, but great in its simplicity.

Runs smaller than the HWM, so you would definitely need to size up.

Great looking Highwayman you have here, btw.! A slimmer fitting Halbbelt-style jacket with a subtle hourglass shape (perhaps in dark brown hide) would be a nice addition.

Regardless of which style and leather you decide to go, and assuming you choose a buttoned jacket, the only recommendation I’d make is over the selection of buttons.
Personally, I would always go for horn buttons. The leather football type will flop around when the jacket is unfastened and there are also reports of them falling to bits after not a lot of wear. Similarly, I think some have said their Corozo nut buttons had split with use
