+1.
I wish I knew this before I got my Teamster.
I should’ve also said that being larger and ‘football’ like the leather buttons are not as easy to fasten and unfasten through the buttonholes of a leather jacket as the flat horn ones.

FYI, I think I had something like five of those Carozo buttons break on me! They would send me more and theyd would keep breaking, and at one point an envelope arrived with a broken one in it!

I am pretty sure that if you work with arrow directly, they will lengthen the back on any jacket for you. Or Thurston Brothers might be able to arrange that. Along with the suggestions above, I would add the Maxwell, lengthened by an inch or two.

And I’ll agree with others, that’s a great fitting highwayman! But I understand why you’d want a longer jacket as well.

Hello and thank you!
I really like the Highwayman, but it's more of a jacket to wear over a t-shirt.
I recently visited a retailer in Germany and decided on an Aero Half Belt Deluxe in Natural FQHH.
I ordered a size 42 instead of the 40 I usually wear with the Highwayman! To match the light brown leather, I chose cream-colored thread and Gordon Red Ancient lining from Lochcarron.
I was able to try on a size 42 right there in the store; my chest is 41 inches, and it fit perfectly. The length is about 1.5 inches longer than the Highwayman in size 40, and it's roomy enough that I can wear a thick sweatshirt underneath.

Hi OP

I’m a big aero fan - if you ask them they will pick the heaviest HH for you for a small surcharge like £50-100.

But that limited to 4oz or so at most.

If you want extra thickness, go for a cross zip with D pocket - you won’t regret a cross zip trust me - though cross zip should sit at belt level or just above it.

If you want really really thick and heavy stuff (people may start calling you machochistic lol) - consider Johnson Leathers if you’re in US, or if don’t mind paying import taxes. I ordered a JL jacket in 5oz (I actually wanted 6oz but they happened to have 5oz in stock and it worked out cheaper than ordering new hide) - unlined and I can say with authority this jacket is damn thick and heavy - and I’m extra happy with JL buying experience.

Or tucking in his shirts. If it’s underneath the jacket, why does it matter whether it’s a short shirt or long shirt tucked in? I tuck in my shirt sometimes when it’s too long, even though I wear my jackets unzipped.

I find the idea of shortening a shirt very amusing. The only shirts I wear untucked are Haiwaiians, everything else gets tucked. It drives me up the wall when I find an otherwise great shirt that is for me rendered unwearable because it's been cut to wear untucked and it's too short to stay in...

Do Thurston still add 1" to all their Aero orders by default? I remember they did at one time. Worth clarifying if specifying very specific measurements gonig through them, rather than saying "add two inches" and discovering it's three inches longer than standard. If memory serves, this came about because Thurston's primary target market were bikers, often guys with racing bikes that required a crouched-forward riding posture, which can necessitate a lengthened jacket to maintain coverage at the back.

Hi everyone!
I'm the proud owner of a size 40 Aero Highwayman in black FQHH. I love the heavy Horween horsehide, although my Aero's hide is definitely one of the thinner.
Now I'm still looking for something to complement my black Highwayman.
I'd like a jacket with a slightly longer cut so I don't have to tuck in my T-shirts or shirts.
Simply a jacket for everything!

I've noticed the Halfbelt 1930, Long Half Belt, Plainsman, and Sheene.
I'm 1.80m tall and weigh about 83kg, and I have long legs!

Please give me some suggestions on what you would recommend!

Thank you very much and best regards, Daniel View attachment 739863 View attachment 739864 View attachment 739861 View attachment 739860
Does it say front quarter on your jacket label? I ask as I have an Aero but just says Horsehide. Just curious.
