In all seriousness, it's entirely possible. The 25 oz IH's feel like they're made out of rope. Gave me bruises the first week I wore them so I don't see how they wouldn't cut through a much lighter Nd thinner material. Just that I don't pay any attention to it.

I like their construction and how heavy fabrics creases like leather, just a size or two too small maybe, 1st time raw denim convert mistake, the numbers looks right on the raw chart but they shrank after wash and shrank a bit again after 2nd wash, it slowly relax again with wear and looks nice not flaring on the hip and all, but probably too small for practicallity, better to get slightly big and get the shrink out with washing. My 3rd pants is bought 1 yr after the other 2 and has much comfier top block, functional front pockets, the previous has tight front pockets i cant walk with my hands on my pockets... but i read somewhere it is supposed to be like that since they are made with underscaled pocket just for better proportion look so i dont know.
They look alright on photos, but probably a size bigger would look the same but more comfy.

Part of the problem is the rise shrank too, i think thats the biggest problem. Waist and other horizontal shrinkage is easy to stretch out again with wear, but vertical shrinkage is way more permanent, the way the pants is worn doesnt give any pull to stretch them back probably only on the knee.

12.5oz that shrinks to 14 imho is plenty though and thick. You get all the creases etc. you can imagine without feeling like you are wearing a rug. The way denim ages has more to do with the properties of the fabric than its thickness, like leather really.

Supposedly, the super heavies get very comfortable after a month of wear and people compare them to sweat pants. Plus they're also durable and tough wearing tho at this point, I think I'd much prefer leather pants. Wish people didn't make such a big deal of it, leather pants...

I dunno about sweat pants comparison a lot of people make, i think they hallucinate from mild indigo poisoning..

I can't imagine anything much thicker than Pike Bros denim or Carhartts - particularly not in very high humidity. The dampness and material rubbing against itself would be pretty bad for the garment and would pill the cotton on anything else really quickly. I'd either want quite light jeans or linen trousers when we're talking 30C and above. In the same way that Shanghai/Hong Kong heat isn't at all suited to expensive footwear (pavements and rainfall mean that you're much better of with a pair of 30-40 quid boat shoes until you get to the office and when you leave), I definitely wouldn't be wearing (essentially damaging) thicker denim in high humidity.

I’d have to agree with you navetsea. I have a few pairs of 20+ oz. denim, two of which I have worn quite a bit. Neither of them are anything like sweatpants although they are both comfortable to wear this point.
