The Daily Telegraph carried today the obituary of Elspeth Green who
died on August 24 aged 93.
A remarkable woman, she was one of three WAAFs awarded the Military Medal in August 1940 for bravery during airaids on Biggin Hill.
There were only six of these medals to WAAFs during the whole war.
