As long as u are sure it's a natural scar and not a tear from the lasting process then I wouldn't be concernedGot some new engineer boots from unsung. Beautiful boots, however, they came with a little scar. Is it anything to worry about in terms of the integrity of the boot? I'll post pictures of the whole boot tomorrow. What socks do you guys wear with engineer boots. These are my Darn Tough socks, after wearing them about half a dozen times, they are pilling and looks like wont last much long (most around the shaft and ankle area). Although they have a lifetime guarantee, not sure i want to replace with another.

I know, I've already tried to change my name with no luck. I wonder if any of the bartenders can help with that actually.
For how they look and taking the price in the equation they are a steal imo(quality is what it is, but I really like the sleek look)! just wish I bought mine in a larger size as I struggle to get them on even after wearing them for months(was to lazy to send them back for another size lol).Nice to see a pair of Grinders hanging with that company. My first pair of engineers - still got them too - were Grinders. Mine are the Wild One model, I think (the only one that was widely available locally at the time - I bought them way back in 2005). Shiny leather, steel toecap, and a chunky commando sole. Not best vintage accurate in look (given my druthers, I'd take the Rebels of the two), but when it's wet underfoot and/or dealing with snow, only a pair of the old Bundesmarine boots would come close I think. I've since added a pair of Redwings and a couple of pairs of Chippewas. The Danish Bright boots have a strong appeal now. I did look into a pair of Wescos, but at this distance and with the weakness of the pound against the dollar this last decade or so, they're a non-starter for now. Brights have that really nice shape and when comes the time for a pricey pair of boots, could be just the ticket.
In truth I've only ever just worn whatever regular socks I had to hand with mine. If I was going to reach for specific socks, though, I'd go looking for a pair of seaboot socks like the English Rockers wore in the early sixties.

Photo from Lewis Leathers' website - these are the Aviakit option at £23 a pair, though personally I'd go looking elsewhere for something a big cheaper. They're all much of a muchness for me, and I'm as happy with cotton as wool. A decent hiking sock in any colours would do the same job too. The Rockers always wore this cream colour for the effect, but I don't tend to flip my socks over the top of my boots as they did (in an echo of the RAF, I think). I wear my boots American style, tucked up my trouser leg, so. Same socks still work well, though.
This has come up before, but it doesn't seem to be an option with the forum architecture provided by the underlying software.

I did actually chose between the "Wild one" and "Rebels" when I bought them, I do really like both models
Also do check out Brights, I'm very impressed with my pair after wearing them a bunch of times and I see that the boys been cooking up some new stuff that's incoming this spring(they are releasing a green pair of Vultures that looks AMAZING for example)
Cheers!
Copenhagen is an amazing city! would suggest you wait until spring at least before you go though(a grey and slushy Copenhagen is so-so haha, but you may already know all this). I'll also have to give the boys a visit to next time I visit our neighbors to the south and pick something up irlBeen having a poke on the site there.... I think money no object I could easily talk myself into a pair of Vultures - would love to see them on a dark burgundy, like a black cherry. Also a pair of the engineers (at least.... I like both the brown and the black! Maybe one or the other for one pair in the 11" and one in the shorter shaft....). And I'm really taken by the Western Derby shoes...
Realistically, I think I'd start with a pair of boots. I'd want to try 'em on first for sure, but I've always been meaning to take the wife to Copenhagen for a city break, so that could be an opportunity to aim for....

Sounds amazing mate, and after reading your post I really want it to be spring again... I'm done with all this snow and ****e...I was there once, way back in 2001 - free weekend as a work gig (alas over a decade before I met the wife). April time, as I recall - enjoyed it very much. Time I got back...
I really like that leather(and the design of the Mr.Lou is a classic)! these boots would go amazing with the Thedi Leathers I just got in a similar greenish color, very nice!Thinking the Mr. Lou will is just fine. Getting these out for casual wear a few wears per week and about 6 weeks in. They definitely look black in dim light, but in brighter light can see the olive undertones. This is The Shop x Wesco collab in Maryam Horsehide Olive Petrolio.

Sadly Wesco is rather hard to find here in the EU, and when I do find Wesco it's almost always the "Semi dress" or similar laced boots, almost never their engineers.
Yesbox! I do actually own a pair of their engineersHave u checked out these guys?

Not mine but I'll answer anyway haha, Those Mr.Lou are Maryam Horsehide Olive PetrolioNice look! Are they Horween? I have a vague recollection that Horween did a CXL At a time that was black with a green undertone (I think it was called something counterintuitive like Midnight Blue?). It's a look I like; reminds me of a lot of German-made leather jackets from the 30s through 50s. I enjoy it much more than teacore, the latter having a tendency to give me the twitch over whether the match it with black or brown other bits half the time.![]()
Could you help me with sizing for these? I’ve got low volume feet too (Lofgrens felt very loose on me). My foot measures 27.5cm exactly. Addict’s size 10 is 28cm.. seems right? I wear 11d in MOST Nikes but could wear a 10.5. I wear a 10 in Red Wing moc toes, 9.5d in iron rangers. Finally found engineers that work with my low volume feet!
5th times a charm.
Nice horse hide with good color depth. Comfortable insole.
10” height.
Very narrow shaft. I wear straight cut denim but these would likely work well with tapered pants.
photo skills are bad so i screen grabbed.

I have the Chippewa reproduction boots made by Toys McCoy, The Wild One. How can I help?Does anyone own a pair of the Chippewa by Real Mccoys horsehide boots? There's a pair I'm looking at that might be my size, not entirely sure how they run.
