Hi gang,

Have never had any thing from Evisu. Any info, please, could someone tell me about this jacket?

http://evisujeansshop.com/sale/Denim-Jacket-by-Evisu-150.html

Cool looking, inexpensive. But the elbow patches and the Evisu thing on the pocket. Can these be removed? I think I recall one thread somewhere, which stated that the Evisu lable is stitched and can be carefull removed.

Don't feel like spending $250-350 on a LVC type one.

Thanks for ANYTHING!

I've seen some Evisu stuff, and it seems OK. Being in the hunt for yet another way to lose my money, I've been on the hunt for Selvedge jeans. They're not the same as a Sugar Cane or Levis or RRL, but OK stuff for the money. Lots of it on ebay too. What size are you?

Too bad the elbow patches are banana yellow...yuck. Would look nice with dark brown leather patches though.

I'm a 42-44... Just depends on the company and cut... I would *assume* being a Japanese company I should aim for larger. I will check eBay, that's a good idea. So decent quality?

Yeah, those patches are awfull... They might be painted on... There's another jacket they do, with worn finish and has the same yellow elbows but are worn down... (Here it is...)

Wonder if I could soak the jacket in thinner and melt the paint off :)

Thanks !

The patches on the second jacket aren't bad. I would be careful trying something like that, as the thinner might stain and/or damage the denim. Another option might be to get a pair of real leather or suede patches and sew them over the yellow paint.

I would stay away from Evisu unless you are talking about the Made in Japan jeans with lot numbers. There are better alternatives.

Why would you ruin a good jean jacket with bright yellow arm patches.
Jean jackets are not something you would but an arm patch on.[huh]
an the breast pocket is real low on the jacket.

I'm not a fan of either the patches or the Evisu big E logo. That said, they're not trying to sell to a vintage crowd, and from a marketing point of view I acknowledge that they have been very successful in the creation of such a strong brand identity, albeit one not to my personal tastes.

In terms of pocket positioning, it doesn't look too far off from the vintage Levis design it apes:
