My wife and I took a week going up the Oregon coast recently. We spent the first night in this motel that uses refurbished train cabooses for rooms. I couldn't resist climbing in the old locomotive for a picture:

It has some very old train cars:

We had lunch a few days later in Bandon, Oregon, Tony's Crab Shack:

We also visited Heceta Lighthouse, which you can see in the distance behind me in this pic:

In the parking lot for the lighthouse, we got a pic of this historic bridge:

Very familiar with the coast from Wa to Caly Blackthorn, and the Ore coast is easily my favorite. Can't beat the seafood either.

Yesterday a visit to our ancient capital: Venezia

It is a treasure for all the lover of Venetian art.
We decided not to take the boat but walk the not crowded streets of Venezia

It was a pleasant long walk in the "minor" Venezia to visit Accademia and Ca Pesaro http://capesaro.visitmuve.it/en/home/ for a small exhibition of an Italian painter of the 20 - 30'

We had an excellent view from our front porch. I thought about dragging out the binoculars, but they weren't necessary. Even in the middle of the city.

Palladio Villas

A Tuesday tour in the Palladio Villas.
One of the first work commisioned to Andrea was Villa Saraceno in Agugliaro - Vicenza https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Villa_Saraceno

It was a very simple country house

Saved from the ruin by the English Charity Landmark Trust
Another early work builted with the design and project of Palladio
Villa Pisani in Bagnolo - Vicenza https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Villa_Pisani,_Bagnolo

It is another country house without the court that was a trademark of Andrea

This villa was made for a Venice family and it was the first for a noble family of the Capital

A sort of emblem for many architects in Great Britain and United States of America was the third visited

Villa Capra "La Rotonda" one of the last work of Palladio https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Villa_Capra_"La_Rotonda"

The style of this suburban "Palazzo" (this is the definition of Palladio) was used in many constructions in North Europe and USA

It is very near Vicenza and it is not one of my favorite Villas of Palladio
