Dear Lounger.
Whilst roaming the streets of Oslo last night, a film popped up in my head.
Must have been like 30-35 years since I saw it...
Does anybody know the name of this film?
Probably a black & white, an it portrays the life of a Tuxedo as ownership changes.
The only sequence I remember (vaguely) is as follows:
A poor and struggling composer gets an audition for a famous conductor.
Said conductor is blown away by the music and hastily sets up a concerto (with a symphonic orchestra), which is to be conducted by the aforementioned poor and struggling composer himself.
But; he will need a Tux for the occasion, and cannot afford one...
Then sees "our" Tux at a pawnshop or something.
Buys it, although it is a tad to small for his somewhat voluminous figure.
Whilst conducting his symphony the jacket tears at the shoulders without him noticing.
The audience giggles, the audience laughs, the composer breaks down on stage, rips off said Tux jacket and stands in his shirtsleeves only...
Heartbreakingly...
Famous conductor/mentor rises from his "suite" in the gallery.
And removes his own jacket in exemplary compassion.
The men in the audience does the same.
Concert continues.
