Schott leather jacket in a classic blazer style, size 40.

€190 + shipping. IBAN or PayPal (F/F or G/S, upcharge being on you).

INFO
Occasionally, Schott would've take on an attempt of the style but I personally never much cared for what came out of it. Being of the opinion that biker leather jacket makers simply lack the tailoring finesse to make a proper leather blazer, I would altogether disregard any such piece by either of the usual suspects.

I can't even say why I bought it, knowing not only that I most assuredly wouldn't like it but also how difficult to sell these are so naturally, knowing how unpredictable life is, it was no surprise that when the jacket arrived, it wasn't just good but so actually too good, complicating matters to extents that I just cannot deal with. I love this jacket but I do not want to keep it. . .

Nothing was left to chance; Made from leather you wouldn't except Schott ever used; Lightweight (0.9 mm I believe) but very solid, firm, full-grain cowhide with beautiful, fully natural texture. Light cowhide (or horsehide) is only kind of leather that assures that perfect drape. Would've been just right for the lightweight Perfecto. But anyway. . .

Standard three button, two pocket setup front. Lightly lined. Like I said, lightly canvased in the body (chest, lapels, etc.) and the shoulders are quite structured. Flattering, not power/oversized.

All that, though, I might've expected but what came as a shock is how good this jacket fits & this is what I mean by the jacket being too good. This is some Tom Ford sh*t we're talking about here. I am... was set on having just jacket in this style - Fully hand-stitched, bespoke blazer, made from leather tanned specifically for that purpose - and the silhouette of this Schott comes awfully close.

Why all this, then?

I will not wear anything, especially not what is supposed to be a piece of tailoring, that has an embroidered brand logo on it. As indiscernible as it may be, that they just casually came up with what might be their classiest, sleekest & meanest jacket and then called in a meeting, sat down and said "Alright, how can we f**k it up now?* is a fact.

Anyway...

CONDITION
I can safely say that the jacket is basically new. No signs of wear. I wore it only for 10 minutes to take the fit photo.

SIZE
Size 40 although by my estimation, it perhaps fits larger and measurements are...

  • Chest width (P2P): 54 cm / 21"
  • Waist width: cca. 50 cm / 19.5" (measured across actual waist, not hem!)
  • Shoulders width: 47 cm / 18.5"
  • Sleeve length: 67 cm / 26"
  • Back length (without collar): 77 cm / 30"

MISC
Shipping from the European Union. If you have any questions whatsoever, please don't hesitate to ask.

Dang, do all Schott blazers have a logo like this?

Been looking for a nice leather blazer just like this (but closer to a 44) but that logo is indeed brutal. Never understand who/how they make that decision and think people wouldn't unanimously prefer it without the logo, as subtle as it may be.

This is the most European sounding post I've ever read and trust me, I mean that as a compliment :)
Haha, it is? I don't know. In what way? I am genuinely curious now. :D

Lousy ones don't. So far, this is the only one that has it & coincidentally, it is by far the best one, except that it isn't because the logo ruins it.
But yeah, that's exactly it - I could be telling you that you can't even see it how subtle it is and how well it blends into the texture of the leather but this is precisely what makes the inclusion of the logo even dumber.

It is such a cool jacket, though... Would literally made it as my main leather jacket if it wasn't for the logo.

It looks killer!

I've had an eBay alert for Schott blazers for a while now and at least I will be looking out for ones with logos I might miss going forward!

Not sure if there's a good leather blazer thread here but that would be a great resource, seems like a very finicky type of jacket to nail just right.

It's very nice. Kinda similar to a lighter weight lambskin bally I have which has very nice details also.

It's not really lightweight, though. Earlier Brooks cafe racer is what I would define as a lightweight jacket and this blazer is still made from heavier stuff (of much higher grade). Comparatively, this does make it lightweight compared to Vanson's Comp. Weight but regardless, it's not. It'll handle tough times and come out none the worse.

You're explainer is perfect. Familiar intimately with a '60s Brooks Cafe Racer as it's pretty much my favorite jacket ever, but will need a few helpful thread reinforcements specifically around one of the gussets. Additionally the Competition Vanson leather is incredibly soft and heavy as I was lucky enough to find a Vanson Force Motor Patrol jacket; fits perfect except the sleeve on a size 40 is not really 25 inches, more like 24.5 inches, and I need to find a solution to the maritime plastic-like zipper as some of the teeth have come undone. Lambskin and sheepskin can typically pass your breath through if you tried blowing throw the naked dermis.
