Selling this vintage 618 as I no longer need it. My bad and good eBay fortune means a great deal for someone else!
This is a vintage rock 'n' roll cut with a much more cropped length than the current model, so please do note the measurements. I am 5'11 and this is on the very edge of being too short for me, so I think anyone who likes a shorter cut and is 5'10 or below will be just fine. I wear a 44 in the current version of this jacket, as well.
Jerri from Schott said the tag indicates it's from before 1992, but couldn't give an exact year. My guess is late 80's or early 90's but I am not an expert.
So I bought this thing about a month or two ago on eBay but when it arrived it clearly had a mold issue. Requested a return since it said returns accepted and the mold was not noted in the listing but the buyer stopped responding entirely and so I ended up getting refunded for the jacket without having to send it back.
Schott reccomended I send it in to Arrow leathercare for cleaning and mold removal which is what I did. All in all they did a pretty great job as you can see, the leather has been thoroughly clean and conditioned and it is in much better shape than when I got it. I asked them to fix the missing button on the back collar as well and they either forgot to do so, or simply included a button but didn't put it on (I found a button in the chest pocket when turning them out for photos but I don't know if that was there already since I never tunred it inside out before sending it in). So also note the back button below the collar is not affixed, but I do have the button itself to send with the jacket.
I will also add that there is still a slight musk the jacket has that is akin to just being an older jacket. I think with wear and sunlight it will subside even further, and you could even try and wash it (I honestly may give that a whirl if I don't find a buyer and think it's scaring people off) but I don't think it's something that would put me off from buying it at this price with the liklihood of being able to fix it entirely. And it is nothing, and I mean nothing like how it was before it was cleaned as far as odor goes.
However, in the intervening weeks while it was being cleaned I found a great 618hh on here and don't need two 618's at the moment. Though I do love the way this one fits.
Measurements:
Shoulder: 19.5
Pit to Pit: 22 give or take depending on how you measure with the arm footballs
Length: 23.25
Sleeve: 25ish depending on how you measure.
Just looking to recoup my costs of getting it restored so I am asking for $180 plus shipping (I am in NYC, can ship internationally but it might not be cheap...also listing it on eBay and it's possible with eBay's international shipping you will be better off buying through there but feel free to DM me and we can sort it out).
eBay listing here: I may be able to get it into a priority mail box which would make shipping around $20 domestic but need to double check.
