Does anyone know any good quotes from old radio shows circa 1937-39?

Sort of a 30’s Homer Simpson, kind of like:

Marge: “Homer!”
Homer: “Doh!”

It’s for a comic book I’m doing, but all the comedy shows I have are from the 40’s. I know the general audience wouldn’t know the difference, but I would, and that’s what matters.

Well, if you're looking for recognizable catchphrases from the late thirties, here are several --

Jack Benny (petulantly): Well!!

Molly McGee: Tain't funny, McGee!

Andrew H. Brown: I is regusted!

Amos Jones: Mmm--mm, ain't dat sumpin'!

Abner Peabody: Walllll, I doggies, Lum!

Goodman Ace: Isn't that awful!

Molly Goldberg: Yoooo-hoooo! Is anybody?

Bob Hope: Who's Yehudi??????

None of these make a lick of sense out of their context, but any schoolkid in 1939 would have recognized them instantly.

Thanks for the help everyone. After talking with my writer we went with a Shadow reference. All your posts were a great help, but after talking it over we felt they’ve, sadly become too obscure for most people today so we decided to dumb it down a bit.
