Did they have "Dry Clean Only" labels in the '40s? If so is this an early example?

They did. This is '40s. The pocket zipper is also kind of interesting, how they used the same slider from a pin-lock zipper, but with the chain on it. It's a shame about the moth damage- this is a really cool looking jacket in person, especially with that back pleat. For a company advertising itself as the finest frontier wear in the country, they sure didn't advertise. I'm pretty good at digging info up on obscure topics and I've found squat on this brand.
