I am unfortunately not very knowledgable about company logos and what period they might date to, so I would like to ask some experts here. What decade might this A.BREITER date to?

The seller mentions having bought it from a NY hat shop in the 80s, but nothing about the hat looks 80s to me. The colours, logos, fonts, style of name decals and lack of plastic on the liner make me think its considerably older. Any thoughts?

Interesting find. Not often you see the full name of Adalbert Breiter on an A. Breiter hat.

The logo, colour, and design could suggest 1940s / early 50s.

Are there any labels under the sweatband?

Looking forward to hearing Steve's @mayserwegener comments on this one.

Those are unfortunately the only pictures showing the inside of the hat. 40s/early 50s was my feeling aswell just from the look of it.

Are there any photos of the hat itself.

A.Breiter weren't making hats themselves by then. It would be interesting to see the hat and any labels that might indicate the actual maker.

These are the rest of the pictures. The seller claims the hat was purchased at "Granville" in NY, which appears to be a retailer. You can see that logo on the sweatband. Ive searched for Granville NY and have found this hat, which also looks 40s era to me. Might be an indicator?

Possibly mid to later 1950s. Can you take a photo of the paper label behind the sweatband? It would be located at the rear or the rear sides. You see English marketing names used in this time period in Germany. Also you wouldn't see those sweatband initial pins used in America.

Steve, I haven't been able to find any men's hat production info regarding Breiter. I tend think they sourced them.

Thanks. Ill post more pictures once the hat arrives. So "Granville" would be the model name?

Possibly but as I mentioned you see English used for marketing purposes so wouldn't read much into it. Also notice the use of English "Superior Quality" so targeting English speakers. This was post WWII so many American military and also English speaking tourists in Bavaria / Munich. Here is a Breiter Soft Felt from the same general time period but with German markings.

R. & M. Wegener "Extra 9", 57 cm possibly later 1950s. The Gray Felt has a great Smooth Finish and with contrasting black Bow and light gray Brim Binding. The overall quality and condition are excellent.
