Dobesch Wien are definitely less common. I have never found a 1930s or older one in my size range. It seemed to fine to pass on and rare, apparently.

Thanks Steve. Sure they are, very lightweighted and thin felt!Marcel, Great find and rescue work! Hückel Weilheim hats are great to wear!
Daniele, Both are fantastic! Nagy is a well known hat store in Vienna that is still in operation and goes back the 1920s, I am fairly certain they sourced the hats. Is it possible to see a photo of the paper label? Its brother is a different twin.

Also produced by Nagy - Wien in the same era.

The lining of this one bears all the brand's inscriptions and also has what I assume is the shop where it was sold: Gloria - Wien.
There is a paper label under the sweatband with the information in numerical codes and the size 57 cm.

The hat is completely different from its brother. The felt is of excellent quality, soft and very malleable.
The color is a medium gray with a two-tone gray and black band.

Very trendy for the period, with well-made finishes and proportions that lead me to believe they are products from the 1950s/1960s.

These are the measurements: the brim, trimmed with a matching ribbon, is 6 cm high. The two-tone, horizontally pleated ribbon, is 2.5 cm high and the lowest part of the crown is 10.5 cm.

A rather unusual hat for the period.
Cool finds, Daniele. This one especially with its very cool ribbon treatment. Its brother is a different twin.

Latest arrivals for the collection in December 2025.
Photographed in order of arrival, here are the hats I purchased, even though they weren't my size, but were interesting or unusual enough to satisfy my curiosity
![]()
These is the first of two hats made in Austria, which in itself piqued my curiosity.

Furthermore, they were made by a craftsman, so the seller said.
They were produced by Nagy - Vienna, I presume, around the same time.

This one is marked "Standard" on the lining, with no other indication.
The felt is of excellent quality, but it has too shellac for my taste.

The color is a brown tending towards warm, with well-made finishes and proportions that lead me to believe they were made in the 1950s/60s.

These are the measurements: the brims, trimmed with a matching ribbon, are 6 cm high. The ribbon, matching the felt, is 2.5 cm high, and the lowest part of the crown is 10.5 cm.

A classic of the period. Size 57.
Thanks Steve, I'll post a photo of the paper label on the Nagy Grigio as soon as possible. What puzzled me is that in addition to Nagy - Wien on the sweatband, it also says Gloria - Wien on the other side, which I thought was the hat shop. I was wrong in my deductions.Daniele, Both are fantastic! Nagy is a well known hat store in Vienna that is still in operation and goes back the 1920s, I am fairly certain they sourced the hats. From its overall shape and dimensions, the bow, the white sweatband, the orange liner, and pink paper label, not to mention the size, it is one great find.

Maybe the other Nagy (brown) came from the same source, but nothing under the sweatband make this a little puzzle.
