Echter Mayser Rias fedora in a heather mohair finish. Size 55 with the overwelt brim at 5cm and the crown at 9,5cm at the center dent, which makes it a smallish looking hat. Not going to say no to an Echter Mayser for 1 euro though. It has been sitting on a hat stretcher for a month to get it to my size.

Stefan, Thank you regarding my "Marke Greiif" Homburg! Super find with the Echter Mayser "Rias"! I noticed on the paper it's "Riali?". Is it a "c" or an "a"? I believe that it's the first one of either. I can't recall coming across a "Rias" or "Riali?" before. Really like the Rauh finished felt!

Thanks, Steve. I think it is "Riallo" and more faint "mohair" after that.

Vented Mayser Panama. This is my only 'semi-calado' hat, and I like the Mayser name. Nice Brisa-weave daily driver Panama. :) So far this is my only Mayser hat, but I'm keeping my eyes open for nice vintage felts in my size.

Do you see that little bit of dark brown straw on the interior crown above the liner? I'm not sure what that is - if anybody has any ideas, please let me know.

Looks like it could be the Stamp of the Straw Hood Company. Possibly "Dorfzaun". Can you take a better photo? Does it extend onto the black Masyer Crown Tip Patch?

Ah - that makes sense - thank you. I believe it extends under the crown tip patch.

I believe it's the stamp that it is "handwoven in Equador". Every straw hat has a stamp when it's an original handwoven straw hat from Equador. Sometimes it's readable, sometimes not.

Marcel,

The first one is the Dorfzaun Stamp.

See "Burning Stamp Application"

BURNING STAMP APPLICATION
Each hat receives a burning stamp immediately upon purchase from the artisan. This stamp ensures traceability and certifies that the hat has undergone the correct processes. The hats often move between different artisans after purchase—for example, to specialists who treat the brim edges (Azocadores) or fix the hat’s shape (Compositores).
