Stetson Hats produced for or in Gemany.
The Quality of the German Stetsons is not always clear. Sometimes is the Royal Stetson with a low class felt, then you can find
a Royal with a very high Quality felt. Why?

Wow very nice hats to say the least. I am not sure why some hats have lessor quality aside from what was being sold for a higher or lower price. I can say however the hats in your pictures all look really nice to me.

I have one hat that was not made by Stetson it is a Dunlap hat, and has a silk finish to it. And as many hats I have had or looked at since I have had an interest in owning a hat, no other hat yet has had the quality of the Dunlap felt that I can observe. Some may not agree with that statement, but if they had the Dunlap in their hands and felt it and looked at it close, they would see what I mean. They just don't make hats as they used to.

Yes its look nice, and I LOVE my Stetsons, but I prefer fur hats with solid quality so baggy hats are not my case.:D

Around the mid 1950s Mayser aquired the Stetson license. Mayser made hats that equaled or surpassed (detail work) the quality of the American made Stetsons of the time. For example here is a late 1950s (date stamped 12/27/58) Stetson made by Mayser.

With German hats you start to see glued liners and more stiff felts around the mid 1960s. It's similar to what happened in America although I think the attention to detail was better in Germany. The Italians and to a lesser degree the Austrians (see Habig) kept things going at a higher level into the early 1980s.

yes you're right, maybe a Mayser, the size Tag is the same.
My Twenty Five Golden Coach Dobbs under German license arrived today.
Once I made pictures I upload them.
