I am asking this here so I, and others will find out at the same time?

PB has on his site a Grueso hat, blocked in one style only, but for the life of me I can't figure out what it looks like.

Who has one that can post a picture??

I have a couple

Hi,

I have three hats from Bob, two Grueso and one Fino. The only real difference between the Grueso and my Fino is that the Grueso has a coarser weave (thicker strands), and the brim is a tad wider (3" vs 2 3/4").

I bought two Gruesos, one for me and one for my wife, for use as gardening/farming hats. Once I received them, I found that they're actually way too nice for field use. We decided to stick with the el-cheapo straw hats that the farm and feed stores sell for use in the field.

We do wear the Grueso Panamas when our antique farm equipment club puts on shows. That's when we drag out the 100 year old equipment and show folks how it once was to be a farmer - standing in the sun all day manually feeding equipment run by large stationary engines (gas and steam) or horses. The Panama hats are much nicer than the norm, even though they are the low-end offering from Bob. :)
