Hat I saw in a movie

I was watching Johnny Dangerously last night and saw a fedora bashed a little differently it had no pinch in the front and the bash ran across the hat instead of front to back. Is this something from years past? Or just for the movie?

Sounds like someone sat on his own hat and it somehow got by Wardrobe before the take! I cannot imagine what that monstrosity would look like. Can you post a pic? I'm curious now myself.
