I just realize that tall person doesn't always come up with big head size...Well, I'm not talking about a person as big as Indycop lol but I see from members' picture here, where most are westerners / caucasian (which I believe a lot taller than I am :) ) but still many of you can wear size 7 - 7 1/8.

I'm only 160 cm, but I wear 7 3/8 and sometimes even 7 1/2 [huh] lol ...

Any of you feel the same as I do? :)

Yohanes,

I had 15 years ago a drawing book telling about proportions of the human body.

There it explained the male body's proportions displaying 3 drawings besides each other.

It begun with the statue of small men. The head is proportionally bigger compared to the body - the rump is short. The body is 7 to 7 1/2 heads tall. That corresponds to a height of 160-165 cm.

It continued with the drawing of a man whose body was 8 heads long - approximately 185 centimeters. This is what was described as the ideal height w. ideal proportions of body to limbs etc., this is what is depicted in Classic Arts for most of the times. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Da_Vinci_Vitruve_Luc_Viatour.jpg

The man of nine heads is a 2+ meters tall Herculean stature -exaggeration of the former proportions- is used to draw heroes, mythical figures, demi-gods, comics figures etc. Here the head is relatively small to the body with even longer limbs, rump, etc.http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...e_de_la_estatua_el_Cid_(Parque_de_Balboa).jpg

All the 3 drawings showed thin muscular guys - unfortunately not so many of us are like that even if having the height...Maybe in the 'ideal age' i.e.around 18-20.

Sum up: height and skull size do not always correspond each other.

You're not the only one who feels a little disproportionate sometimes. I'm only a few inches taller than you and wear a 7 3/8 hat. I wear size 10 1/2 shoes and need extra large gloves. My brother, who is several inches and 60 lbs heaver than I am, and I have the same size hands. His look perfectly proportionate and mine look like giant spiders dangling from a string. [huh] Such is life.

Or criminal tendencies, as some Victorian (and even more recent shakeshead) gents would have us believe. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physiognomy

Sadly, i fear there is no way to predict what head size someone may have based up the rest of the body. Other than vague generalisations - say, smaller people are more likely to have smaller heads than larger people - which i think will probably hold true across a population. There will always be outliers.
