Very shady looking character at a burlesque/swingjive New Years Eve party, at the start of this year.
I make my own tropical shirts, but I just couldn't find the sort of material that would create the oomph
that is burlesque. And then someone gave me emma's name, from Dupenny. That talented lady, silk
screened the material, it was rather expensive, so I asked my very skilled dress making wife to design,
cut and make the shirt. Have to say, I am very pleased with it, although it's not the sort of attire to be
seen in elsewhere. Not unles you want to raise eyebrows, that is.

This post needs a bump so here's a very low key Hawaiian shirt, cotton/hemp Duke Kahanamoku with coconut buttons and embroidery. Blacksheep Hat Works milan on top. Headed to an outdoor wedding today.

At last we have some fine weather to enjoy. What better way of celebrating that, than to bump this thread. Have any of you treated yourselves to a new tropical shirt of late? Am I allowed to plug my own? I import the fabric from a company in Honolulu, via the internet, then make bespoke shirts for friends and others on the dance circuit. Given the lovely sunshine, it seemed a good opportunity to show you a few from my wardrobe.
This, I jokingly refer to as a plane shirt. It often takes a while for the penny to drop before the pun is translated.


This one is the handicraft of my lovely lady, note the way the panels and ****** pocket all line up, you can hardly see the join.


I get many orders for this fabric, I haven't named it, but it's also popular with the ladies, made a few dresses in this.


This is Woody, a real favourite, again all the panels line up. Look carefully at the elbow of the centre model. Can you just see the ****** pocket?


The lady in Honolulu told me that they call this fabric: Bird of Paradise. It's easy to see why. I just love it.


I hope you like them, and I do hope that one or two of you can keep this thread going for a while.

Thanks for your compliments, you are supposed to be looking at the shirts. But as you have such a smooth way with words.
The hat comes from Edinburgh, a shop called Fabhatrix. I chanced across it during a visit to Scotland a few years back. My hat
size has always been a problem, I have what is termed as, a double crown, which means I need very large hats. Seven and
three quarters, or 62cm in metric. The lady that runs Fabhatrix has a similar problem, we struck an immediate empathy. When
she cannot source a particular hat for me, she, or one of her suppliers will make it. She's been an absolute Godsend.
The shoes I wear practically all the time, (not the same ones)they are from Colin Johnson Shoes in Surrey. Colin is a truly talented, and these days, rare shoemaker. Both companies can easily be found online.
