I finally have a picture of the "Hat Size Reducers" that were used in the old days to make a hat fit well for someone who was between sizes---or just for cheap people who bought whatever hat was on sale and made them fit. LOL
Anyone ever seen anything like these? I understand they are rare.

Sorta like collar extender buttons sold at the counter for dress shirts nowadays.

I have tried to describe it before but I never got a good picture until now.
Collar extenders? Hmmm. I think I could use a few of those.

Cork head

It's just thin cork and /or blotter material that was cheaply cut and stamped with the stores logo.

Free to any hat customer.

It did accomodate the hat person who was between sizes, or the color and style was a tab bit big..and the size reducer filled the gap.

Gee, what's next? Wearing two pair of socks for those too big shoes just 'cause they are on sale?

Shoe sizers

Not 2 pairs of socks, but I worked in a shoe store years age, and we used tongue and heel pads to adjust fit. They were a fuzzy material with a peel-off adhesive backing.
