Help identifying Patch on WWII Rough Wear A-2

Hey guys,

I have picked up an original Rough Wear A2 but after much searching online can't seem to find any info on the squadron patch that is on the jacket.

Anybody seen this one before?

I cannot identify the patch but it is very reminiscent of the heraldic lion of Scotland.

Looked like a Griffin to me. Was curious myself, so did some digging.

Absolute pleasure... and I was surprised. I am really fascinated with 57th BW, esp the 340th, I love that diamond patch.
