You won't get any closer to owning your own vintage time machine than this!

Built in 1901, this timewarp of a house is located in Elgin, Illinois. It's been well maintained but not "updated", so it still has all of its original features - Scrollwork and built-in radiator seats, stained-and-lead-glass-windows, sliding pocket doors, ornate working fireplace, built-in liquor and china cabinets with pass-through, original built-in kitchen cabinets, built-in clothes closet and drawers, laundry chute, Florida room, sun porch with gas heat, summer window screens... Even the original keys for the doors are still here and working!

But wait, there's more! :D Walking distance to the METRA, two-car garage, nice yard with plenty of flowering plants and a great annual crop of raspberries for homemade jam, dry basement with lumber and coal rooms and a woodshed, big attic, all in a nice neighborhood with great long-time neighbors.

So why am I crazy enough to sell? Because I can't stand another Chicago winter and want to move home to my place in Dixie. So, we're asking $269,000 for a literal piece of history.

We're having an open house this Saturday, November 18th, so drop me a line if you're interested in paying us a visit or want more info...

Beautiful home. Good luck with the sale. After 42 Chicago winters I sympathize entirely. 8 more for me.
