I have my First A-2 on the way (US Wings Horsehide) and am now looking into getting an upper tier A-2. Not sure of which vendor as of yet but I am doing some looking while saving up my pennies. I also have a ESPN jacket which has a Wool body with leather sleeves that has the look of a letterman's jacket, plus some modern ones.

Overcoats:

Aquascutum forest green
Jackeroo tan long duster
Drizabone type dark brown waxed long coat
Riding Cape from Camargue, dark brown
Boss thin duster, light tan
Lauren charcoal grey wool overcoat
German leather WWII era long coat, dark brown
Burgundy red wool overcoat, from 80s

Jackets:

Aero A-2 50 missions
Aero A-2 from 80s
Aero Barnstormer, cherry
Wested Indy, goat
Grey generic leather jacket

Black generic leather jacket
Swedish army motorbike jacket, green canvas
Couple of tan generic canvas jackets (Gap, Doursoux)

These I wear, there are some more in the closet like a Kakadu gunner, that remain there... And then there's the winter stuff for skiing and like, and rain stuff for golf and like and whathaveyous...

I'm not gonna list my coats, but I do have a bunch, from light spring jackets to a Canada Goose down parka for the MN winters. What I receive is endless crap from my friends when they see my coat closet, because I have multiple versions of the same type of jacket. When I try to explain they are different colors and lengths for whatever I happen to be wearing, I get the eye-roll and head shake. Most of these guys are from the 'the less clothes you have, the more manly you are' mold. But I hate it when my shirt is longer than my jacket- if I wear a long shirt I need a long jacket, and if my shirt is tucked in I wear a bomber. Also I've started collecting hats and I fear I will be buying jackets to match the hats and not vice-versa. It seems I buy at least one new coat every year.

My relatively puny list:

- Levi denim jacket (8 years old)

- Barbour classic beaufort (3 years old)

- J Crew brown wool melton carcoat (for the really crappy winter weather, about 14 years old)

- J Crew black wool pea coat - sitting in a closet waiting to replace the carcoat above for about 8 years, but that brown carcoat takes a licking and keeps on ticking. J Crew stuff is quite well made, I must say.

- Roots "Mark" black leather "Harrington"-style jacket - just bought, quite a steal for the current price < $200. Roots stuff appears to be also quite well made, and is an excellent value.

- Aero brown FQ horsehide Stockman - the King of Kings; my "go-to" or "signature" jacket, to be worn as often as humanly possible. Hope to be buried in this one.

- G&B Expedition in dark brown - currently on its way; I ordered both goat and lamb, so I haven't decided which I will keep, but am leaning towards the lamb.

This set will work for me for years to come, so long as no more of the icebergs melt and the Soylent Green weather patterns don't become the norm... ;)

Maybe half a dozen

1 A-2 in horsehide

1 ANJ-4 in cowhide

1 split cowhide fringe cowboy jacket

1 trench coat

1 down jacket

1 down parka

But it doesn't get that cold in Los Angeles, so the cold weather coats are only worn on the occasional trip back East.
