I'm not sure these count, but these are the lot. 300 attractions roper boots.

I find this to be much more narrow than the lot 444 engineer boots despite them both using the A010 last

Has anyone tried Thursdays roper boots? They're on a warehouse sale rn

Does the ring at the front of those have a purpose, or is it just decorative?

I'd consider a roper boot at some point, maybe. - most likely for me the Red Wing Peco. It's one potential option as a Winter travel boot... In Summer when I fly I wear loafers or slip-on plimsols for convenience at the airport. When it's colder, a pair of easy on/off boots could be the thing. I did once fly in a pair of engineer boots, which was a bit of hassle at security with the extra timed to get them on/off and deal with the buckles. I've even considered getting a pair of EBs with a zip on the inside leg side for that purpose.

I think it's just decorative, but I'd have to do my research as I'm not sure. I read a review where someone was using the D ring at the back to get their foot in the shoe, and eventually the leather strap gave way - so definitely not for that purpose.

I find it interested that this pair is natural rough texture on the inside EXCEPT the heel and surrounding foot area, which is leather lined, which does feel premium, but it doesn't help with heel slip for a laceless boot
