I have been a huge fan of Western films and the styles worn in them... but even I wouldn't wear that. The craziest jacket I like is Charlie Prince's white leather jacket from 310 to Yuma.

I've a fringed brown suede Daniel Boone/Davy Crocket jacket for probably 30 years. Just keep it out of the rain (and don't gain any weight) and you can wear it forever.

I dig this jacket as well! From time to time I check out the deerskin jackets on eBay, always thinking I might pick up something fringed and funky if one pops up in my size.

Steven Segal ruined these jackets for me.
And it's a shame because they are beautiful to look at and there's much more than just the shape of the jacket and the hide it's made in going on. The beadwork is beautiful and often tells a story all it's own. But I can't help but see this:

Little Joe on "Bonanza" wore one that echoed Foxx's - watching the show growing up, I loved it and still think it looks pretty good.
You ever want to drop a wad of cash on a fringed jacket check out this woman. She's done jacket for Randy Travis, Travis Tritt and others. She makes a men's vest With antique silver eagle quarter buttons I'd love to have, just not at $2600.

I always referred to these as 'Billy' jackets, not for the Rockabilly scene though but rather 'Billy' played by Dennis Hopper from Easy Rider.

In the 70's, there was a here today, gone tomorrow fad, a very expensive fad, chamois leather, military style shirts. They had two ****** pockets and epaulettes. Just as the fashion started to wane some bright spark added fringes, that gave the trend another three months or so. Any Londoners, my age, will remember Kensington Market. There was a stall holder there selling them at about the cost of a month's wages. And we were all mug enough to buy. Hey-ho, to be young and foolish.
