I know nothing about derbys. Any idea how old these are?

In my travels I came across two derbys. The first is made by Stetson. It is intact with 3 small mothbites under the brim and is a size 7 1/4. Any clue as to its age?

The second hat needs work. The sweat band has come out of the hat as well as the silk lining being shattered. I see no mothbites of any kind on this one. It is a derby as well made by Joshua Turner of London imported by Youngs Hats of New York. It is a size 6 3/4. The hat itself appears in great condition other than the lining being bad and the sweat band having come out. The ribbon needs to be replaced as well as the edging ribbon as well. I'm also trying to figure out how old this hat is.

I'll take a stab at this, though these are only rough estimates. The Stetson is probably '30s, but could go a decade in either direction.

The other one could be older than that, or around the same age.

Not much help, I'm afraid.

Thank you Brad. That's 100% more than I knew before I posted. A client consigned these to me and she got them from a neighbor's children when he passed away. She's has had them for a good 25 years and she is now 97 so I presumed they were older but had no idea how far back. The second hat would definitely be a project to undertake. I would love to know more of the personal story behind them but even though my client is sharp as a tack at 97the hats were just passed on with no further information. Thank you again for your help.

I'm going to echo Brad in saying the 1st one's '20s or early '30s. second one's probably '20s but could be a little older.
