I tried a fur collar on an overcoat once and switched it out for astrakhan in short order. I think it's a test of one's dandy, especially these days.

Those vintage overcoats show up on U.S. eBay about three times a year -- and not necessarily in Fall/Winter. Watch for them.

An outfit like that, with the bowler on top, can be a lot more comfortable when it's fake snow all around you. The real stuff requires a lot more insulation around the cranium.
Then again, with Hollywood film lights blazing away, that outfit was probably VERY warm.
