Another eerie, demanding, compelling movie comes to mind: "Black Robe" (1991). It is a drama of French Jesuits bringing Catholicism to Canadian Indian nations in the seventeenth century.

I had completely forgotten about this movie but I have to say "Yes!" to Black Robe, an incredible film.

I got this in the mail today and I can't wait to watch it. Have any of you seen it?

Well, I guess no one has seen it ..

If you are into Avant Garde art films, "Dreams That Money Can Buy" is a must see.

It's broken up into 6 dream sequences, directed by the most influential mid century artists: Man Ray, Marcel Duchamp, Max Ernst, Fernand Leger, Alexander Calder, and of course Hans Richter.

The version that I purchased has an alternative soundtrack composed by The Real Tuesday Weld (swoon x's 10) plus a few Richter shorts in the bonus features.

A real gem.
