There is no way that I would ever pay that much for a hat. My Grandfather ,Farris Morrison, was John Wayne's (Marion Morrison) cousin and as far as I'm concerned I'm much closer to the Duke than the buyer of that big ol cowboy hat will ever be.

When I read the title of this thread I thought to myself "So someone paid a lot for a Duke Ellington hat. Must be the famous white top hat he wore. A bit too much money,but he was a great man and great dresser..."

$75,000 for a hat? I might be able to invent that money into the equipment needed to make hats and then make one for myself. Yet, I suppose some people have excess money to spend. C'est la vie and all the best to them.

If anyone here happens to be such a person, please feel free to contact me. I could use a donation of $75,000 and I promise not purchase a single hat with that money.
